Thad posted on his Facebook that Factory Honda has stepped in to offer more support this year to the Shenendoah Honda / Offroadchampions.com ride that he has. I'm not really sure what that means, perhaps more parts and funding? Either way it'll be interesting to see how Thad does on the Honda. He had been more than just a little outspoken about the Yamaha and how he didn't feel like he was getting the necessary support, we'll see how that shakes out...

Honda stepping in to provide support makes me wonder what is happening with the JG Off-Road squad. Geico pulled its support of the team at the end of the year, so I wonder if they are unable to find another big sponsor to help them go racing and Honda is moving its funding to this new team? Purely speculation here but since it's the middle of January and we've yet to hear anything about their team it makes you wonder...

I would love to see Thad have consistent finishes in 2012. He clearly has the speed.... In regards to Honda stepping up it's support it can only be a good thing obviously, as we all know. I never realized Thad didn't like the Yami. He seemed to really gell with the YZ 250 when he rode one at the enduros but seemed to struggle on the 450. Perhaps Yami wouldn't let him ride the 2 stroke in GNCC or fulltime in the Nat Enduro's though.

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what he didn't like about the bike, or if it was just more frustration if he wasn't getting the same support as Paul (not sure that's true, just what I heard). It had to be tough though when your teammate is winning on seemingly the same equipment and you're getting DNFs.

IMHO, this change was needed and should be good. Sometimes people get stuck in a rut--Thad has been under the AmPro tent since his amateur days--so this shake up in his program will hopefully get him motivated.

He's always been a wreckers or checkers kinda rider, not sure the Honda will change that, though...

All I know is that'd it'd be great to see Factory Honda have more involvement in off-road!

JG Offroad is a Factory Honda team, from what I have heard, and is going to be Jimmy Jarret, Nate Kanney, and Scott Grills.
