I think you might have went through some of that a little bit faster than I did...

Great video, keep those coming throughout the year!
I have experimented with several different GoPro mounts, is that from the top of the helmet? Is that also the Hero2 camera?

That is a chin mount. Right on the front of the chin bar. I am too tall to put it on the top and I would not want to lose it. I also don't like the video of a side mount. Yes it is a hero 2 model.
I took a piece of hard clear plastic and cut into the shap of the chin piece and then drilled holes to zip-tie it on. That way if I am not using it I don't look squid.

I might have to try that, I really liked the viewpoint for the video. I have knocked them off the top of my helmet a few times and have went away from that as well. I have recently been using a chest mount while racing just to avoid worrying about hitting it on a tree and knocking it off. The problem with the chest mount is that the video comes out with much more "movement" and isn't as easy to watch as yours have been.

And now I know why Lafferty and Bakken waxed everyone, that is some tight stuff!
If you could post some pics of your GoPro mount I'd love to see it. I'm going to be filming at all of the National Enduros this year and have been trying to think of GoPro solutions that won't result in losing a camera each round...

I took the piece of plastic and drilled 6 holes in it so I could run 3 zip ties into it. One on top, and both on sides. I didn't put it on the bottom becuase you will be unable to slide the go pro in and out of the mount effectively. I put the sticky backed slip on mount on the hard plastic in the middle and then I ran silicon around it so not dirt or debri effects the hold. I use the mount that isnt the one used on your head typically, I use the one that extends out a little bit. Without this extended mount it would be looking too far down. I also had to mount the go pro from the bottom and in the settings flip the recording because the go pro is actually upside down.
Does this describe it good enough? I can always take a pic and put it up of the actual camera on the mount. Also Jason I will be at Sumter this weekend with it.

I have ran the helmet on top of the head before and I do not think this was any more noticeable. You might notice it standing around, but not racing because you look downward when racing (well at least i do) therefore the weight doesn't cause a problem.

Does anyone use a Contour HD cam? I've tried both and I really prefer the Contour unit both for fit and quality of the results. I'm not good at editing like some of you guys are but just the little films I've made come out pretty good as far as I can tell.

I've heard good things about the Contour, but the guys at GoPro have been really supportive of me and the site so I'm sticking with them. I do think, especially for tight stuff, a Contour would be better just because of its low profile...
