With the news that Morgan Moss will be out for at least the next 3-4 months with a knee injury, who will the Obermeyer / Raines Riding U / Offroadviking.com team find to fill in for him at the start of the season?

Here are some possibilities, who would you call up to the team?

- AJ Stewart - Already rides Yamahas, came on strong at the end of 2011...
- Jesse Robinson - Not sure if he's got a deal yet, rumored to have a Husaberg support gig.
- Ted Mullins - Is he still on Yamahas?

I hope Jesse Robinson gets a shot, I was really disappointed that Beta didn't add him and run a two man team for 2012. Maybe they were afraid that breaking bikes in half was common thing for him. :D

We need to hit up Jesse and find out what he's got going on for 2012. I rode with him before Christmas at Brown Mountain here in NC and he told me that if the Beta deal fell through (which it obviously did) that he was working on a Husaberg support ride. Not sure if it'd be on a 2-stroke or 4-stroke or XC1 or XC2...

Here's a name that could use some help... Jedediah Haines.

That's a good question, I'm assuming either ACL or MCL - he had surgery today with Dr. Augustine down in Florida.

I haven't heard anything but I would guess if Jesse has a Husaberg deal, it would be to ride a 250 in XC2... Could be wrong but that seems like the best option to me.

As for a Moss fill-in, I'd be glad to ride the bike for the Sandlapper National Enduro since I'm pre-entered without a bike. All kidding aside, I think I saw somewhere that Ted Mullins got a KTM. That leaves AJ Stewart who kind of tends to fly under the radar it seems, but does put in some pretty consistent rides.

What about Jake Korn? Does he have any deals with anyone? He was killing it for a while at Mountain Ridge.

I'd like to see someone deserving take a fill-in ride but it would also be cool to see someone completely different come in and give it a shot. Fresh on my mind at the moment is that Robby Marshall guy. He's a moto guy but he's faired pretty well at the JDay events. While that's a lot different than a 3 hour GNCC, the guy rips. He was at that ghetto Arenacross race I went to this past weekend and came from like 5th place back to 2nd. That's pretty impressive considering how it was even sketchier than a normal Arenacross track... He's probably not a guy they would be looking at but I'd like to see him give a few GNCC's a shot. Once he figured out the whole 3 hour race thing, he might could be pretty good.

Yeah I saw him at the 24 Hour last year. First time I recall actually seeing him ride and he looked pretty quick to me...

I'm all for seeing a moto guys give a shot at a GNCC.

I know Teddy Mullins was down in Florida for a few weeks and he was aboard a KTM 450. He definitely has some serious talent and speed, but so does someone like AJ Stewart. I think AJ's consistent results are overshadowed by his quiet attitude at the track. If I remember right, he finished just outside of the top five this past year in the XC2 class. Considering he has been on Yamaha's for as long as I can remember and already has some affiliation with Yamaha and Randy Hawkins, I think he would be a good fill in. There are so many riders deserving of rides and few opportunities with the economy.

I definitely think it would be cool to get someone like Robby Marshall or any other privateer moto rider to do some GNCC's. Although there's not much money to be made in GNCC, someone like him would probably jump on the opportunity.

RM81 and JK267 are rippers for sure. Robby has the sprinting speed there is no question but, Jake being a past NETRA Harescrambles champ might be a better bet. Riding in the morning heats, then watching guys of their caliber crush your laptime by 1.5-2 minutes on a 5 minute loop opens your eyes to what's possible on a dirt scooter.

Riding Open A and hopes to jump to XC1 when he graduates from college this spring. He will have time to train harder and ride more. But he's not opposed to xc2.
He's pretty open to whatever at this point. He's been going back and forth to FLorida as his schedule allows. were headed back to FLA this weekend to ride the next FTR event.

BTW..love the forum!!

See ya t the Sumter hare Scrambles??

Jake is a definite bad dude. He podiumed XC2 a couple of years ago down in Florida then was crushing it at Somerset this year until he ran into a problem with his rear wheel. I'm kind of surprised he never got the kind of support his performances proved he was worth... Two podiums and 7 top-five finishes in 2009 and nada...

It's cool he's got his priorities straight, getting College out of the way and then going for it. A lot of kids could learn something from how he's going about things.

The plan is to be there for the hare scramble, but definitely the Enduro, we'll see!
