Jason Raines tweeted this. I wonder who he is referring to? It's crazy that some guys just can't figure out to let someone go if they catch you from a minute behind. They have no shame apparently.

My team riders been compliant about the same XC1 rider holding them up. If an XC2 rider catches u, they already 1 minute ahead! #MOVEOVER

Just a few observations from the race.
Paul Whibley on a two-stroke. Has he ever raced one before? (since four strokes became popular)
Jordan Ashburn seemed to be having good results through the first three sections and then his times dropped off. Something happen?
Jesse Groemm is putting in some UNREAL results. I'm impressed.
Paddy Holloway got back up to form. Good to see that after being a bit off his pace the first three rounds.
Still surprised to see Shane Hufford not doing better. He is riding well but I thought he would be fighting for top 5's this year.
Killer battle between Ingram and Grant Baylor. Glad to see Ingram show some serious speed and challenge Baylor.
Stew Baylor passed me every section... I don't even know how to describe his speed.
Thad wasn't there, heard it was for personal reasons.
Lastly, Toby Price put in an impressive result on the 500.

Big Buck... What a difference
16 April 2012 - 03:40 PM
I rode the GA GNCC and as I have wrote on here and have told many people, it was one of the least fun races I have ever done in my life. I said there was no fun to be had at a GNCC and I will admit I thoroughly enjoyed the Big Buck GNCC. I rode the morning race and some would say that was the key. Sure I in NO way wanted another hour but I also quit after two hours at Ga so that wasn't the difference. The course was layed out nice and had good flow, but my main issue was solved. Sure they had some mud but it had a bottom and if you got stuck you were intentionally trying to take a bad line in my opinion, or at least a very risky fast line. Whereas at GA you didn't know what you were getting into most of the time.
Okay enough about my revelation. The spectating was awesome at big buck. If you love watching some tremendous crashes the hill by the creek was the place to be. I stood by it for only a lap and I saw some of the most spectacular crashes I have seen in a while. I can only imagine what it was like for the whole race. Quality stuff.
Some other talking points.
Glad Hoop asked if XC1 guys were getting out of stews way in the latest Post-show. I was curious about that.
Didn't see Jason Thomas doing that well on the KTM that quick, but honestly I still don't think that will be the difference to get to Stew. My Opinion.
Rory Mead switching back to a four stroke all ready? That was much to do about nothing.
Jesse Robinson hurt thumb? How bad?
Nathan Kanney finished the race albeit way off the pace. I don't understand how he finished fourth at GA (a VERY demanding track) and now his endurance is not up to par, as he himself said.
Finally Mullins ran the number 1. Can't tell you how annoying it was seeing 112 after winning the title. At least make the middle 1 bigger or something.
Kailub Russell already back to only two points on the points lead? Amazing. I wonder why he doesn't do enduros too. Make the most money at off-road while you can. I know he can, i've seen him have the speed two different events.
Lastly, Delong. Man, what a ride. Only the second race back and held it on for 3 hours. Impressive to say the least. Got second on a husky...

What would you want to ride
27 March 2012 - 10:55 PM
This is in the far away future. But I love the J day off road style. GP races are the best imo. I know of a great place to throw down a gp race. I want to do it when I get out of dental school (4 years). However; I wanted to ask what people would want. I like this forum because it isn't cluttered with non racers. It doesn't matter if it would be hard to pull off or whatever, just lay down what you think would be the MOST FUN to ride and race. You could obviously run it like a worcs with hour long motos. A normal harescramble (would create quite the lapping fest.) Run it similar to an mx race. Run it like a team race (similar to the battle of atl or the off road cup). The track im referring to would be about 1 mile gp with about 2-3 miles woods grass track. What are some thoughts? Like I said this is very far in the future for me but I want to have it the best it can be when I finally can put it together. Also, what are some awesome trophy ideas that are apart from the norm. I've always loved odd trophies such as mason jars, jugs, lanterns, slabs of woods... etc.
